1. Batteries are the "hardest hit": Disconnect the power supply.

The biggest concern for generator sets during prolonged downtime is battery depletion. Even when not running, batteries will self-discharge.

Recommendation: If the shutdown period exceeds 7 days, be sure to turn off the battery power switch or disconnect the battery negative terminal. If possible, it is recommended to use a float charger to maintain battery charge.

2. Cold Wave: Check Antifreeze

During the Spring Festival, temperatures are low. If the unit is parked outdoors or in an unheated machine room, antifreeze is crucial to prevent the machine from freezing and cracking.

Recommendation: Check the antifreeze level and freezing point. Never use ordinary tap water as a substitute for antifreeze, as freezing and expansion can cause radiator or cylinder block cracks, resulting in repair costs of tens of thousands of yuan.

3. Environmental Protection: Dust and Rodent Control

A quiet machine room is a breeding ground for rodents during winter. Gnawing through wiring is a common cause of unit malfunctions after the holiday.

Recommendation: Clean oil and debris around the unit, seal any openings in the machine room, and simply cover the unit's air intake and exhaust vents (remember to remove them before resuming work) to prevent foreign objects from entering.
